WORKSHOPS

Guild Play Day February 6, 2010

Don’t forget to mark Saturday, February 6th on your new calendars so you’ll be sure to attend the Guild Play Day. Thanks to Connie Hydel for dying the wool batt in all those fun colors. If you took some of it and have come up with an idea for what to do with it, please bring it to the January meeting to share with the group. Also if you have any of the adhesive backed foam sheets given out at the October meeting that you haven’t used yet, try Connie’s idea of making a roller stamp on a piece of PVC piping. If you have extra adhesive backed foam you’re not using, bring it to the January meeting so someone else might use it. One of the surface design techniques we plan to have available at Play Day is crayon batik. At the January meeting, Veronica Straus will explain this process and show how to prep your fabric if you would like to try crayon batik. This is the first time we have tried a Guild Play Day. It is envisioned to be a fun, sharing, cooperative activity and a way to get to know each other better. All members are invited but what a great way for newer members to get to know others and to be known. You will need to bring any surfaces you wish to embellish, fabric, paper, etc. and the Guild will provide supplies.
